Title: From Science to the Real World: Experience with dupilumab in severe atopic dermatitis

Description:Type 2 inflammation is central to the complex pathophysiology of atopic dermatitis (AD). Dupilumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody that inhibits both IL-4 and IL-13 signalling pathways, which are key and central drivers of type 2 inflammation in AD and other type 2 inflammatory diseases. This Symposium will provide an understanding of the science of Type 2 immune dysregulation in atopic dermatitis and present dupilumab longer term efficacy and safety data from clinical trials and real-world studies.

Description: The concept that chronic skin disease impacts quality of life is not new to dermatologists. The speakers will be discussing the psychosocial burden of chronic skin disease, metrics to assess quality of life in this population and provide insight from the coalface of patient care.

Title: Australian Psoriasis Registry – The importance of real world evidence: guselkumab efficacy and drug survival in an Australian Population

Description: To support dermatologists in making the best treatment decisions, it is important to understand how drug treatments work in the real world, different from the highly selected patient populations included in randomised clinical trials. The Australasian Psoriasis Registry has been collecting data on Australian psoriasis patients over the past 15 years. This presentation will review the Australian real-world evidence of the efficacy and drug survival of guselkumab, comparing similarities and differences to evidence from the clinical trials.
